We will celebrate Summer Solstice with an outdoor ritual in the Grove, reaffirming the Unitarian Universalist value of stewardship and communion with the Earth and our natural environment. This day marks the time of greatest sunlight as we pass through the wheel of year, but it also marks the time when we begin the march towards the season of greatest darkness. We will reflect on this time as a period of strength and transformation in our individual lives and the life of our community. As part of this ritual, we will construct a woodlands faery shrine just off of the Grove. Please bring gifts and offerings (e.g., stones, beads, herbs, crafts, etc.) to the ritual to offer up to the construction of the shrine, and perhaps the fey will return your well wishes with gifts of their own. Children are welcome and encouraged to participate as we weave together myth and tales of old to create and strengthen our bond with the Earth and all her children.
